Let me introduce myself…

I’ve been a make-up artist, chocolatier, a barista, a pet-sitter, a bartender and I’ve always been “that girl with the camera.” (I’ve also been, “that girl who sleeps on our couch” and “that girl who’s booty I saw in the newspaper” but I digress…). I grew up in Sebastopol but, in my early 20’s I picked-up and moved to Winnipeg (yes it’s a real place in Canada, they mentioned it once on “The Simpsons”) and that’s where I stayed for many years—why not, eh? (If you know, you know…it’s the coldest possible place outside of Siberia I could’ve picked to live-out my wild 20’s as California girl.)

My love for photography started 20 years ago in Sebastopol, shooting only film and hand-developing images in a poorly ventilated darkroom I built at home. My inspiration came from the people around me, framing life as it happened and absolutely taking rolls and rolls of pictures of my friends doing “cool stuff” (or embarrassing stuff depending on who you ask).

For the last decade I’ve been using my documentary-style photography here in Sonoma County to capture incredible, raw moments at Northern California weddings to showcase unique personalities in my portraiture. I am proud to have been selected as a winner of The Knot’s “Best of Weddings” as well as Wedding Wire’s “Couple’s Choice” for 2022, 2023, and 2024, thanks to all of the incredible reviews I have received from my wedding clients.

Creating a friendship with my clients and understanding their personalities to make them shine is my priority. Photography is about the art, the people, and catching candid moments that will live on forever. It’s about ditching expectations and allowing moments to unfold. It’s about seeing the beauty in authenticity. I want all the open-mouthed smiles, the happy tears, the chaos that erupts on your wedding day or when you try to get your family of 5 to look at the camera at the same time. I want you to not only see heirloom photos but, to feel raw emotion when you revisit those images.

I’m a story-teller, I love to laugh—often at my own expense. I am an exceptional home cook and pickle enthusiast. I live with my partner, his son, an old cat, a pit bull with a very aggressive tail, and a pack of chickens that follow me wherever I go. If you’ve read all of this, I really look forward to meeting you and hearing your story because you already know mine!

Warmly,

Loren
